A woman who feels her breasts are not proportionate to the rest of her figure can achieve an enhanced sense of femininity and beauty with breast augmentation from San Antonio Plastic Surgery Center. Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that can be used to increase the size and enhance the shape of a woman's breasts. The result is a better-defined breast profile, a more balanced figure, and an increased sense of self-confidence.
Breast augmentation is performed at our San Antonio center on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, usually in about an hour to an hour and a half. The patient is typically discharged about two hours after the surgery and should not shower until after the follow-up appointment two or three days later. During this meeting, Dr. Fisher will evaluate the patient’s progress and provide additional instructions. Ten days later, sutures are removed. For the first six weeks following breast augmentation, the patient should not wear an underwire bra and should avoid exercising.
To conceal the scars of breast augmentation surgery, Dr. Fisher will make incisions around the edge of the areola, along the crease under the breast, or in the armpit. The implant can be placed either under the muscle or under the breast tissue. Normally, Dr. Fisher uses smooth, round implants filled with a saline solution similar to the natural saline fluid found in most cells of the human body. In the rare instances of leakage, saline implants pose little of the health risk associated with silicone implants. A specialist in breast implants San Antonio - Dr. Fisher's methods are safe and his results are fantastic.

Many women are frustrated not with the size of their breasts, but with the shape. Breasts can sag and lose their youthful profile as the result of pregnancy, nursing, significant changes in weight, or just the effects of time. A breast lift at San Antonio Plastic Surgery Center can rejuvenate your profile by restoring the breasts to their youthful shape and position.
During breast lift surgery, San Antonio plastic surgeon Peter Fisher trims away excess skin and tissue to tighten and lift the bust line. In many cases, the nipples are repositioned to a more youthful-looking position. While breast lift is considered an extremely safe, effective procedure, possible risks include temporary bruising and swelling, as well as temporary or long-term numbness in the breasts or nipples. A breast lift at our San Antonio office will take an hour or more to complete. The procedure may be performed in combination with breast augmentation, or another procedure, such as abdominoplasty. In cases of severe sagging, an inverted T incision is used, extending from the bottom of the nipple to the chest wall and along the crease under the breast. If sagging is less severe, an incision around the edge of the areola may be sufficient.

While some women feel their bust lines are deficient, for others, just the opposite is true. Large, heavy breasts that cause back and neck pain, deep indentations in the shoulders from bra straps, and a feeling of being out of balance cause many women to seek breast reduction surgery at our San Antonio practice. Overly large breasts can cause a woman self-consciousness and embarrassment, as well as physical discomfort. Breast reduction decreases the size and weight of the breasts and makes them more proportionate to the rest of the body. If the breasts are large enough, some insurance policies may cover the procedure, but some policies have exclusions for it. If you are interested in breast reduction, it may be worth your while to check your coverage.
During breast reduction surgery at San Antonio Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Fisher first makes an incision around the areola, down the middle of the lower breast to the chest wall, and along the crease under the breast. He then removes excess skin and tissue and tightens the remaining skin. Breast reduction is typically an outpatient procedure and takes between two and three hours. Patients are usually under general anesthesia. Although there is likely to be some pain, as well as temporary bruising and swelling, these will diminish over time.
